This is a really interesting reflection on worship and reference. I wonder outside of the church where do you think are the places/ structures that can cultivate that sense of reverence? Maybe the classroom or within the arts?
Thanks for this, Jen! It's the exact type of question I'm wrestling with. What might "worship" look like in the classroom? What might it look like in the arts? Or in a lab? Are there postsecular rituals we could collectively integrate into these spaces regardless of a person's belief or disbelief? It feels urgent to me, but I'm still mulling over what it might look like...
